Mechanical engineering covers everything which transmits a movement, force or deformation: machines, engines, vehicles, components (gears, pulleys, belts, crankshafts, gear shafts, pistons, etc.).
This is an assembly of at least two non-mixable materials (which nevertheless have a strong capacity for adhesion). The new material that is thus created possesses properties that its component materials do not possess. This phenomenon is used to improve the quality of a material for a specific use (lightness, stiffness under strain, etc.).
